By using PLAATES, you agree to these terms. PLAATES is an on-device licence plate reading tool. It provides estimates from camera images and can produce incorrect, incomplete or duplicate reads.

Responsible use

Use the app only where you are permitted to record vehicles and location information. You are responsible for your use of the camera, the accuracy of records, any exports or sharing, and compliance with applicable privacy and other laws. Do not use a scan as the sole basis for a decision affecting a person; check important readings independently.

Your data

Scan data is stored in your browser and can be exported by you. You control any exported files and their storage and disclosure. Local storage can be cleared or lost through browser or device changes. See our Privacy notice for details.

Availability and technology

The app is provided as available. Camera, location, browser storage, offline caching and model performance depend on your device and conditions. We may change or discontinue features and update these terms; the effective date above shows the current version.

Ownership

PLAATES branding and original app materials are reserved by their respective owner. Third-party components remain subject to their own licences and notices; see the project's third-party notices supplied with the project.
